Estate Agents & Viewing Guidelines Post Lockdown

With lockdown easing, and the property market once again fully open requests for viewings are reaching pre-covid figures and we are in fact seeing multiple offers on properties. One of the reasons Turners are receiving multiple offers is because as far as possible, every request to view is vetted to try and ensure that with social distance guidelines in place, ‘nosey neighbours’ are kept to a minimum, helping everyone to stay safe and healthy.

But in fairness, if you haven’t been given those guidelines then how do you know not to turn up with your whole extended family in tow?

Well, we ask all applicants and vendors to read Turners Property Covid-19 Viewing Guidelines before attending a viewing. We wrote this guide based on the longer cross-party document as found on the property ombudsman website.

in addition to the viewing guidelines around social distancing we are also currently limiting viewing to those who are first time buyers, genuine cash buyers or those with property actually on the market and an offer is imminent, if not already in place.

Why is this?

Social distancing is about limiting prolonged contact with strangers to help everyone stay well. Vendors are opening up their homes to strangers and having to disinfect surfaces and door handles etc,  before and after viewings; therefore they are looking for serious purchasers. So if you are looking to buy do make sure you have everything in place to qualify you as a quality applicant.
